2.0       Conference Theme;

‘Architecture, Urbanisation and National Security in Nigeria’:

The rapid urbanisation sweeping across most developing economies of Africa particularly Nigeria poses serious challenges of sustainable development, urban poverty, insecurity and youth un-employment to our towns and cities.  Evolving sustainable development policies and strategies for our rural and urban areas are key to poverty reduction, job creation safer/resilient towns and cities. Papers relating to the role of Architects and other allied professionals in all aspects of sustainable urban development and security of the built environment would be presented.  These include but not limited to; architecture, urban/regional planning, engineering, building construction, surveying, energy/sustainable technologies, property development.
